For the third consecutive year, Microsoft Dynamics 365 has topped the ERP systems ranking for 2025, as compiled by the independent consulting firm Third Stage Consulting. Dynamics 365 received recognition for its versatility, flexibility, and seamless integration with the full range of Microsoft services and products, such as Copilot, Power BI, and Microsoft 365.

Third Stage Consulting is an independent advisory firm led by Eric Kimberling, a digital transformation and ERP systems expert. The company is known for its objective approach and in-depth market analysis, allowing it to provide reliable recommendations.

Each year, Third Stage Consulting publishes a comprehensive report evaluating the top ERP systems on the market. A panel of experts considers both technical and business aspects, ranging from costs and functionality to risks and system support through other services.

As stated on the ranking’s website: “Third Stage Consulting is an independent consulting firm, not affiliated with any software vendors. The top 10 ranking is created without vendor influence.”

In the 2025 ERP systems ranking, the leading market systems analyzed include: Infor CloudSuite, Oracle Fusion ERP Cloud, Microsoft Dynamics 365, SAP S/4HANA, Oracle NetSuite, IFS, Acumatica, Salesforce/Force, Epicor, Workday, and Odoo.

For the third time in a row, Microsoft has claimed the top spot.

Why Does Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&O Maintain Its Leading Position?

Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&O retained first place due to its ability to integrate with other Microsoft products and its wide range of customization options. The system is designed for medium and large companies, with no restrictions regarding industries.

Key advantages of Microsoft Dynamics 365 identified by Third Stage Consulting:

  • Integration with Microsoft services and products: Dynamics 365 F&O allows seamless collaboration with other popular tools like Microsoft 365, Power BI, and SharePoint. This enables organizations to easily analyze data, automate business processes, and improve internal communication.
  • Wide range of functionalities: Microsoft Dynamics 365 applications can cover almost all processes in an organization, from finance and accounting, through marketing, sales, HR, to logistics and production.
  • Flexibility: The system offers extensive customization capabilities, allowing companies to adjust licensing models and system features to their specific needs.
  • Partner network: Microsoft has built a network of partners responsible for system implementations and post-implementation services, offering personalized customer care.
  • Scalability: Dynamics 365 F&O is a solution that can grow with the company, enabling smooth scaling as the business expands.

Dynamics 365 has gained a competitive edge in the market due to its integration with popular tools and relatively lower costs compared to more complex ERP systems.

However, the ranking’s authors note that one challenge of implementation could be the system’s complexity, especially for companies that have not previously used integrated ERP systems. Also, the quality of services from implementation partners is uneven, so it’s important to choose a trusted Microsoft partner (ANEGIS holds the status of Microsoft Solutions Partner for Business Applications), who has experience in implementing various versions of the system, from Dynamics AX to D365, and provides a team of experts across different business areas and industries.

2. Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP

Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP ranked second. It is an advanced ERP system designed for large companies that need extensive business process management functionalities. This solution is valued for its flexibility in integration and its modern approach to technology.

However, a challenge for companies choosing Oracle’s offering is the higher implementation and maintenance costs, as the system is complex and requires advanced integration of various Oracle portfolio products.

3. SAP S/4HANA

SAP S/4HANA, ranked third, is particularly popular among the largest companies with branches spread across the globe. This system is known for its extensive range of features and a strong network of implementation partners.

SAP S/4HANA is designed for the largest organizations that need a comprehensive ERP solution, but companies must be prepared for the challenges associated with implementing the system: SAP S/4HANA is one of the most complex systems on the market, which results in a long implementation time, high costs, and potentially significant risks of failure.
