We'll set up a product category hierarchy by going to product information management, setup categories and attributes, category hierarchies and clicking new.
00:00:15
We'll give it a name, we'll.
00:00:17
Call it high fashion.
00:00:25
And we'll click new category modes. Because this first category we create is always the parent category of all the other sub categories or child categories. So we'll call this.
00:00:40
High fashion as we have done.
00:00:44
The code is an optional.
00:00:46
Put up code so.
00:00:49
Hi, the general tab, we have an option to classify as a tangible product rather than a service which it is.
00:01:00
The description is to help staff understand the purpose of this category, which is displayed in a tooltip when selected in a transaction.
00:01:10
This is an optional short name.
00:01:13
Keywords help identify the category in a search of category names. We can enter multiple keywords, separating them with a colon or semicolon.
00:01:23
Then we have.
00:01:23
The category attributes which we can add for example in an earlier video we created a an attribute for.
00:01:37
Which we can find.
00:01:39
And we can add both of the sleeve.
00:01:43
Attribute we created earlier.
00:01:48
And we can continue to create our category hierarchy by creating new category nodes.
00:01:56
Now lastly, the category hierarchies are assigned a type. For example, if you assign the sales type to a category hierarchy, the products from this hierarchy are displayed in sales forms. To assign a type, we'll go back.
00:02:13
To our category hierarchies collect associate hierarchy type. Create a new type. We'll choose the supplemental retail hierarchy.
00:02:29
And select.
00:02:33
Our high fashion hierarchy.
