By 2026, Microsoft will invest 2.8 billion PLN in cloud infrastructure in Poland. This marks the second phase of its cloud investment following the completion of the data center region for Central and Eastern Europe in 2023, for which Microsoft allocated 1 billion dollars.
The collaboration between Microsoft and Poland was announced in 2020, with a comprehensive investment plan spanning 7 years. On February 17, 2025, during a press conference, Prime Minister Donald Tusk and Microsoft Corporation Vice Chair and President Brad Smith confirmed further investments.
A total of 700 million dollars (approximately 2.8 billion PLN) will be dedicated to increasing the cloud’s computing power, which is intended to enhance cybersecurity in cooperation with the armed forces. This also signals an investment in artificial intelligence tools, which require high-quality data and resources for further development.
Next, the government plans to hold a series of meetings with representatives from Poland’s IT sector to discuss the potential applications of the Microsoft-financed cloud in Polish companies and startups.
Investments like this lay the foundations for digital transformation based on innovation and security.
