Dynamics 365 operations provides two ways to manage and control your projects, project forecasts, and project budgets. Each method has its advantages and although budgeting is a completely different project management tool, it is closely related.
00:00:20
To project forecasting.
00:00:22
In this video.
00:00:23
We will see how to create project forecasts in a number of different ways. Firstly, we will automatically generate a project forecast when creating a project from a project quotation.
00:00:37
If we go to our project quotations already here, we can see some of these quotations have been transferred to forecast. So if we choose this one which hasn't.
00:00:51
We can select transfer to project and the Wizard will take us through the process. We can click through the defaults.
00:01:03
Just adding Project group here.
00:01:08
And the project ID.
00:01:15
Just ensure the transfer to project Toggle is on.
00:01:31
Going to our new project.
00:01:39
We can see.
00:01:45
Our forecast.
00:01:54
And here we can edit, copy or delete each line if necessary.
00:02:08
Alternatively, if we have a project.
00:02:13
Without a project quotation.
00:02:17
We can create a forecast directly from their project work breakdown structure.
00:02:32
Here we have the.
00:02:34
Option transfer from work breakdown structure.
00:02:39
And here we can philter for transaction type.
00:02:43
We can select the lines we wish to transfer.
00:02:50
And we can.
00:02:52
Change the forecast model.
00:03:02
And then we see.
00:03:08
We have our forecast from the work breakdown structure.
00:03:15
Lastly, we can.
00:03:16
Create each forecast line manually. We have to enter the transaction type separately. For example our forecasts.
00:03:28
And we select group.
00:03:32
And here we can enter details.
00:03:36
Of the task, and we can also resource the task in a number of ways directly from the forecast.
00:03:46
By the way, we use to create a project forecast. We can then transfer the forecast to a project budget. We can see how to do that in another video.
