Finance is expected to do far more today than close the books

A modern finance department is responsible not only for reporting, but also for the pace of decisions, risk control, and the organisation's ability to operate in a changing environment. As the number of companies, currencies, and regulatory requirements grows, the limitations of older systems become costly, and measurable at that.

  • An extended period close. Manual reconciliations and corrections lengthen the cycle and take away time for analysis.
  • Scattered financial data. Reporting and planning outside the source system lead to divergent numbers and rework.
  • Limited real-time insight. Decisions are made on historical data, not current data.
  • Growing operational complexity. A multitude of entities, currencies, and jurisdictions burdens consolidation and intercompany settlements.
  • A regulatory burden. Changing regulations, e-invoicing in KSeF, and statutory reporting require constant system updates.
  • A technology barrier. An older ERP limits automation, analytics, and access to AI.

One finance system: from the general ledger to analytics and AI

Dynamics 365 Finance is an ERP-class finance system, in a cloud or on-premises option, belonging to the finance and operations application family, the successors to Dynamics AX. It integrates the accounting core with a layer of analytics, planning, and AI agents, so that finance teams plan, operate, and analyse in one environment, not in disconnected tools. The system is developed on a continuous-update model and is consistently heading towards autonomous finance.

For the CFOs of large organisations operating across multiple companies, the value comes down to three outcomes:

  • a predictable and shorter close,
  • compliance maintained automatically,
  • decisions based on one reliable source of data.

This is exactly what sets a modern finance ERP apart from a system that merely records transactions.

Capabilities that translate into concrete financial results

Period close and control

A general ledger with chart of accounts, dimensions, allocations, reconciliations, and close, plus a continuous reconciliation agent.

Value:

A shorter, predictable close cycle and lower risk of corrections.

Liquidity and working capital

Receivables and payables, bank management, AI-assisted invoicing and collections, and cash-flow forecasts.

Value:

Fuller control of receivables and payables and deliberate liquidity management.

Compliance and reporting

A tax data model, statutory reporting, reporting trees, and localisations for more than 200 countries, with KSeF and JPK in Poland.

Value:

Compliance that keeps up with regulations, audit readiness, and lower regulatory risk.

A multi-entity organisation

Intercompany transactions and eliminations, consolidation of results across multiple entities, and full multi-currency support.

Value:

A single financial picture of the group without manual consolidation.

Analytics, planning, and AI

Business performance analytics and planning, the Copilot assistant, custom agents in Copilot Studio, and Finance in Microsoft 365 Copilot.

Value:

Planning and analysis consistent with the source system, and faster access to answers.

Who Dynamics 365 Finance delivers value to, and what value

  • The CFO. A shorter close, reliable forecasts, and real-time insight into results.
  • The chief accountant and controller. Control, audit readiness, and automation of reconciliations.
  • The finance team. Less rework, more time for analysis.
  • The IT department. One platform, continuous updates, and extensions and integrations built in the extensions model.

Products that help us drive change

We don't just deploy standalone applications; we implement a cohesive suite of Microsoft solutions - from Dynamics 365 and the Power Platform to advanced analytics and AI - tailored to your specific goals. Everything runs on a unified data foundation, meaning information entered once works across your entire organization, while AI supports your processes exactly where the work happens.

The value the implementation genuinely delivers

The value of Dynamics 365 Finance does not come from the system itself, but from how it is implemented and maintained. In our projects, this translates into measurable results:

  • A shorter, predictable close cycle. Automation and continuous reconciliations shorten the path to the period close.
  • A single source of truth. You run analytics and planning in the system, not in spreadsheets.
  • Decisions on current data. Forecasts and analytics are available in real time.
  • Lower regulatory risk. Compliance with KSeF, JPK, and statutory reporting keeps up with changes in regulations.
  • Lower total cost of ownership (TCO). Continuous updates replace costly, step-change migrations, and one platform replaces many separate tools.
  • A shorter time-to-value. ANEGIS accelerators, including Polish localisation, shorten the path to go-live.

Why ANEGIS is the one to deliver this value

The product comes from Microsoft. Whether its value is realised is decided by the implementation partner.

  • We specialise in Dynamics 365. Finance and operations are our specialty, not a side area.
  • Polish compliance from day one. KSeF, JPK, and the Polish Localisation Pack shorten the time to go-live.
  • We work in Poland and the United Kingdom. We run local implementations and rollouts spanning multiple countries.
  • Proven project delivery, all the way to project recovery. We implement using a methodology based on Success by Design, with risk control, and if needed we take over and recover at-risk projects (project recovery).
  • Support across the full cycle. From implementation, through migration from Dynamics AX, to post-go-live care.

FAQs

How does Dynamics 365 Finance differ from Business Central?

Business Central is an ERP for small and mid-sized companies. Dynamics 365 Finance, together with Supply Chain Management, is intended for larger, complex organisations: operating across multiple companies, currencies, and countries, with extensive reporting. Scale and complexity decide the choice, not the industry alone.

Is Dynamics 365 Finance the successor to Dynamics AX?

Yes. Finance and Supply Chain Management are the finance and operations applications, the successors to Dynamics AX. Organisations staying on AX reach them via a migration path.

Cloud or on-premises?

Both are available. The cloud is the default choice: fully managed, continuously updated, and with the broadest range of capabilities. We use the on-premises option where regulations or data-residency rules require it.

Will the system handle multiple companies, currencies and countries?

Yes. Intercompany transactions and eliminations, consolidation, multi-currency support, and localisations for more than 200 countries and regions, in Poland with KSeF and JPK.

What value do AI agents and Copilot bring?

Continuous reconciliation instead of end-of-period work, variance analysis, access to data in natural language, and the ability to build your own agents. The range of AI features grows with each wave of updates.

How is Dynamics 365 Finance licensed?

On a subscription model, usually per user, with add-ons for selected capabilities. We work out the optimal license mix at the quotation stage. See also License optimisation.
