Environment analysis and diagnosis
A table-by-table analysis, carried out on a production copy, shows exactly where the weight of database usage lies. This is the first step of the engagement. On that basis we estimate the achievable gain and present a fixed-price offer, before we begin any changes.
Cleanup Jobs and index management
We configure the standard Finance and Operations cleanup mechanisms and, at a high document volume, supplement them with dedicated SQL jobs, with minimal impact on operations. Based on usage statistics, we identify and safely disable unused indexes. This operation reclaims space, does not burden production, and is easy to undo.
Test-environment cleanup and infrastructure optimisation
On sandboxes, we delete data from before a set date, once or automatically after a database refresh, using Azure DevOps pipelines. Automatic detection and truncation of transactional tables, without touching master data and configuration, significantly reduces their footprint. We also assess the need to maintain Microsoft Managed environments and point to options for deallocation or moving to another Tier.
Archiving and monitoring the results
We deploy Microsoft Data Archive and, where record limits block it, an ANEGIS in-house substitute compliant with retention requirements. After disabling indexes, we monitor their impact to keep the environment's performance up, and the level of capacity usage can be checked in real time in the Power Platform Admin Center.

Does StorageTrim delete data permanently?
Changes to indexes are easy to undo if they turn out to be unnecessary. Deleting data on sandboxes and archiving transactional data are done in line with retention requirements, not as accidental deletion. We agree each stage with you based on a diagnosis of the environment.
What does the engagement process look like?
It starts with a simple diagnosis of the environment. On that basis we estimate the achievable gain and present a fixed-price offer. We estimate the gain conservatively, and in practice we usually exceed it.
Do you have to buy additional Microsoft tools?
No. StorageTrim combines standard Microsoft mechanisms with our own SQL tools and Azure DevOps automation, without buying separate licenses beyond what you already have in Dynamics 365.
What happens to archived data after StorageTrim is applied?
